Paul Head is a chartered physiotherapist and published researcher from the UK. He works as a private practice physiotherapist at West Hampstead Physiotherapy in London. He is also studying a PhD at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, London in Practical Blood Flow Restriction Training. He has a keen interested in health, wellbeing and strength and conditioning. He is a member of the chartered society of physiotherapy and registered with the health and care professions council in the UK.

He has always had an interest in health and fitness; from playing sport to working as a gym instructor throughout college. This passion led him to start a BSc Sports Therapy degree at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). During his 3 years at UCLAN he thoroughly enjoyed his studies, which is reflected in his First Class Honours Classification (78% average), where he also received an award for Academic Excellence in the field of Sports Therapy / Physiotherapy from DJO UK. During Paul’s undergraduate degree he completed internships at Preston North End Football Club, firstly with their academy teams and then a season-long internship providing pre and post-training and match sports massage and manual therapy techniques to the first team squad. Furthermore, he gained employment as a Sports Therapist for Wharfedale Rugby Union Football Club for 2 seasons and also worked in a rehabilitation clinic for over a year during the same period. Prior to his Physiotherapy (pre-registration) postgraduate degree at Kings College London commencing, he completed two internships; one for Heartbeat cardiac rehabilitation centre in Preston and the other with Essex County Cricket Club’s first team squad. Paul graduated in September 2014 with a merit (63%) overall. In addition to placements for his physiotherapy masters degree, he completed an internship with West Ham United Football Club, assisting with the academy nutrition and sport science staff and worked for Rosslyn Park Football Club for two and a half seasons. Paul has gained vast experience in dealing with the acute management and long-term rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and post-surgical complaints in sport and he started a blog with this website detailing evidence-based physiotherapy in dealing with certain injuries and rehabilitation protocols. During 2015 edited his master’s dissertation: (full text) a randomised controlled trial on practical blood flow restriction training that he designed, and it has since been published in the International Journal of Therapy and Rehabilitation.
